Helping Veterans and Children
In Need of a Service Dog

When your neighbor needs to borrow a cup of sugar, they simply knock on the door and ask, but when their child has Autism or Diabetes you may not even know it.  When your next door neighbor is a Veteran, you may not see their injuries; because all injuries are not visible.

Pawsitive Love Foundation gives you the opportunity to help your neighbors who have very specific needs that they may not communicate with you.  We provide financial assistance for professional Service Dog selection, procurement, transportation, and training for our neighbors, just like you.

We NEED YOUR SUPPORT.  WE NEED MORE LARGE PENS for dogs that have come in.  We use the 5x10 green pens from Tractor Supply.  Currently, we need 10 more pens for dogs.

We NEED MORE DOGS.  We have a list of Veterans and Children in need of properly trained Service Dogs.  We want to help them, but we must have your financial assistance to purchase the "right" dogs.  Dogs come at a price of $1500-3500 for each dog.  Yes, we will use certain shelter dogs for some of our training, but we do not place shelter dogs with children and all Veterans for good reason.

Pawsitive Love Foundation does not have paid employees - every dollar given goes toward procuring the right dog, housing, training, and providing the new handler with the proper equipment needed to work with their dog.  Nobody from Pawsitive Love Foundation gets a paycheck.

Our locals are encouraged to come volunteer to walk dogs and assist in the care of the dogs.

Bugsy-web.jpg

Bugsy is a Pawsitive Love Foundation SDIT.

Bugsy is in training for a Veteran with PTSD, Anxiety, and Night Terrors.  He is a beautiful Australian Shepherd who loves to do his work of creating spatial boundaries and responding to his handler when he "spins up".  Bugsy grounds his handler and redirects his focus to him.  He is rather persistent and does his job very well.  Being such a beautiful dog, Bugsy gains a lot of attention.  This has a wonderful effect on his handler who is becoming more introverted with people.  Bugsy's smile is certain to help restore his handler's ability to smile and enjoy people; a wonderful by-product of having a wonderful dog.

Timber is a Pawsitive Love SDiT...

Timber is currently in training for his handler.  We won't be naming his handler until she is ready. She has PTSD and has suffered Sexual Trauma.  Timber will create spatial boundaries for her, help with her hyper-vigilance, alert her to take anxiety medication if she "spins up".  Timber is a beautiful German Shepherd Dog who was born in our facility from his imported mother.  He has such a great disposition and temperament for being a Service Dog; which can be hard to find in a naturally protective breed.

Finley is a Pawsitive Love SDiT...

Finley is a Service Dog in Training.  He has been assigned to his new handler, Hailey, and is being trained for Seizure Response.  Hailey is 17, and has random grand-mal seizures that limit her ability to be left without a 'guardian'.  It is our goal to restore some freedom to Hailey with the use of Finley.  Among other things, he will alert that she needs assistance, and will comfort her while seizing, effectively reducing the time and severity of the seizure while help is on the way.  He offers balance support while walking or while sitting in a chair.

Jay with his Pawsitive Love Service Dog, K9 Pheonix

Phoenix is a beautiful Golden Retriever.  He has been specially trained to meet Jay's needs. Injured, with limited mobility, this Veteran will have the benefit of Mobility Assistance - walking up stairs, bracing to get up or down to/from a lower level, picking things up.  Phoenix will also be trained to mitigate night terrors, and to create spatial boundaries.  Phoenix and Jay have done an amazing job together.  They were even recognized for outstanding behavior by the Navy Wounded Warrior - Safe Harbor.

Donnie with his Pawsitive Love Service Dog, K9 Cedar...

Cedar was trained for US Army Veteran, Donnie.  We are so excited to see Cedar working for her new handler.  She has been trained for interruption of night terrors, creating spatial boundaries, watching the back of her handler while standing, alerting to the need for medication, and other amazing tasks.  Donnie realizes the benefits of his wonderful new battle buddy.  They have journeyed cross-country from GA to CA side by side the entire way.  We couldn't do this without your support.  Thank YOU!

K9 Liberty mitigates several tasks for Rob.  She is trained for PTSD, Mobility Assist, & Seizure Response.  She also alerts him to oncoming seizures; this is not a trainable task.
